Her practice-based PhD at the University of Essex is an extension of her practice at Dhaga where she is Curating South Asian Futurisms in VR. Sarith’s curatorial journey began with curating Kingston University’s MA Sustainable Design graduate show Thinkers, Makers Dreamers for London Design Festival in 2021. Two years later it led her to filmmaking becoming the co-director and co-producer of Arachnid’s experimental short film, A Taste of Mercury set to release later this year. Sarith’s simultaneous journey as a DJ over the past two years has infused many dancefloors with mixes of house music, jersey club and more. Notably she has DJ’d as part of DAYTIMERS for Phonox, Adidas Originals and VS Late Night Shopper & Next Door Records, Dialled In Festival, Reprezent Radio, Mondo Radio, APNA Studio and DominAsian. Her love for bringing communities together is the underlying force across all avenues she explores.
